| Abstrak Balqis Agista (A 121 18 097). “An Analysis of Students’ Interest in Learning English at SMA Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu”. Skripsi. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Nadrun and Anjar Kusuma Dewi. This study aims to analyze students’ interest in learning English at SMA Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu. It employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGD), observations, and interviews, with participants selected using a simple random sampling technique among 11thgrade students. The findings reveal that students' interest in learning English is influenced by several key factors, including the impact of social media and content creators, future aspirations such as studying abroad, and parental expectations. An interactive classroom atmosphere and engaging teaching methods create enjoyable learning experiences. Listening and speaking activities are particularly favored, although some students still fear making grammatical errors. Learning materials like movies, music, and digital language-learning applications significantly support language comprehension and boost interest. Group discussions are the preferred teaching method as they foster active participation. Overall, these strategies effectively enhance students' interest and proficiency in learning English.
