Abstrak ABSTRACT Miratul Ginayah Sampudju (A 121 18 024). “A Study on the Implementation of Snowball Throwing Technique in Teaching Speaking”. Skripsi English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Konder Manurung and Wahyudin. This research used library research method which aimed to find out how the application of Snowball Throwing Technique to teach speaking skill. Using snowball throwing in teaching speaking is effective to encourage students to be active in learning and speaking participation in the classroom. The data described in this research were taken from document on academic writings published between 2010 and 2020. It was found that there are thirty two documents on the use of Snowball Throwing Technique. After analyzing the documents, the academic writings it was found that there are five academic writings on the use of Snowball Throwing Technique in teaching speaking. The application of the Snowball Throwing Technique by five different researches generally used the steps such as dividing students into several groups, instructing students to write questions on a piece of paper, making the paper into a ball and throwing the paper to other students, then each student answers the questions written in the ball. This research will provide benefits for readers and other researchers who intend to conduct more in-depth research on the application of the Snowball Throwing Technique in teaching speaking skills.
