Abstrak ABSTRACT Nur Aisya (A 121 18 023). An Analysis of Students Speaking Anxiety by Fourth Semester Students of English Education Study Program at Tadulako University. English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Darmawan and Wahyudin. Speaking is one of the important skills in learning English. Students need to be able to speak English because it helps them communicate and think better. However, many students find speaking English difficult. Speaking is an active process that includes making meaning, giving information, and understanding what others say. One problem students often face when speaking English is anxiety. Anxiety means feeling nervous, worried, or afraid, especially when the result is not clear. Many students feel anxiety when they have to speak in front of others. This can cause them to feel uncomfortable, doubt themselves, or worry too much. The purpose of this study is to find out what makes students feel anxious when speaking English, and how they try to solve this problem. The research found three main causes of anxiety: lack of confidence, fear of negative comments, and worry about communicating. The biggest problem is fear of being judged negatively by others. Students try to overcome their anxiety by doing three things: improving their English skills, building confidence, and practicing more. Keywords: Speaking, Anxiety, Students, Strategies |
