| Abstrak The objective of this research is to examine how social media influences the speech styles of English language learners. Using qualitative design, the study employed a purposive sampling technique to select 40 participants aged 18 to 27. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, followed by interviews to explore responses in greater depth. The findings revealed that social media positively impact the speech style of English language learners, it taught them how to use speech style in specific context, particularly in casual, consultative, and formal settings. Respondents also reported notable improvements in their vocabulary and grammar. However, the research also revealed minimal influence on frozen and intimate speech styles, as these forms of communication often remain outside the scope of typical social media usage. |
