Abstrak ABSTRACT This research aims to prove whether or not using make a match method can improve reading comprehension of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Parigi. This research applied Pre-experimental research design one class . The population of this research was the eight grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Parigi an consisting of 30 students. The researcher employed cluster random sampling technique an adopted one group pre-test and post-test design. The pre-test was used to measure the students’ skill in reading comprehension before treatment, and post-test was use measure the students’skill after the treatment. Based on the result of both tests, the resercher found that the t-counted was 11.47. The level of significance counted is set up at 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) of the table is 30-1 = 29. The researcher found that I-table was 1.672. It showed that t-counted was higher than the t-table. It means that the hypotesis of this research is accepted.
