| Abstrak Sitti Khadijah (A 121 17 245). Analyzing English Teachers’ Techniques in teaching text genres at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. English Education Study Program, Department of Language and Art Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. under the supervision of Jamiluddin. This study aims to determine the technique of English teachers in teaching text genres at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. This research used a descriptive method. The subject of this research is an English teacher. Researcher conducted direct interview in obtaining data. The results showed that the teacher's techniques in teaching the text genres were, using pictures or videos, brainstorming, and freewriting. In this research, it can be concluded that the technique used by the teacher is quite effective, increasing students' interest/spirit in learning and being liked by students. So that the teacher hopes to continue to provide interesting learning and continue to motivate students in learning, especially text genres which are often considered boring.
