Abstrak Masita (A 121 17 232). Students’ Perception of Using Duolingo Application in Improving Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at the Tenth Grade of SMA Negeri 1 Kasimbar.A Skripsi. English Education Study Program. Language and Art Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. It is under the supervision of Darmawan and Wahyudin. The purpose of this research is to find the student's perception toward the use of the Duolingo application in improving students' vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Kasimbar. This research used a descriptive quantitative research design and the data collection technique used a questionnaires. The subject was 23 students at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Kasimbar. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the students had overall positive perceptions toward the use of Duolingo application in learning English, especially in improving students' vocabulary mastery. The results from the questionnaire described that almost all of the students agreed that the Duolingo application has many positive effects on the students in learning English, especially in improving students' vocabulary mastery, such as; the students are more motivated in the learning process; the students more enthusiastic about memorizing English vocabulary; makes the students interested in learning English and makes them easier to know the vocabulary in English; getting the opportunity to be more active; easy to do the exercises; can overcome students difficulties in mastering vocabulary; help the students to increase vocabulary; useful for learning vocabulary; make the students understand and practice vocabulary; is not a boring media for learning English; more understand the learning material; makes the more practice and apply their language skills in daily life; can use new words in real contexts appropriately; very influential in learning, especially in improving vocabulary mastery.
