Abstrak
ABSTRACT Moh. Fadhil Rizkiawan (A 121 17 197), "Using Picture Series in Teaching Writing Narrative Text To VIII Grade Students Of Mts Al – Khairaat At Dolo", A Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under supervision of Abdul Kamaruddin and Maf’ullah. The objective of this research is to find out whether Using Picture Series in teaching Narrative Text can improve writing skills of the eighth-grade students of Mts Al - Khairaat or not. This research applied a quasi-experimental design, which used two groups, were experimental group and control group. The research population was the eighth-grade students of Mts Al - Khairaat Dolo which consisted of 128 students. The samples were selected by cluster random sampling technique, and it was 20 students of class VIII A and 20 students of class VIII B. The instrument used for collecting data was a test. The test includes pre-test and post-test, with the mean score 35.18 for experimental class, and 39.35 for control class on pre-test. While on post-test, 51.38 for experimental class, and 45.37 for control class. The data results from the test were analyzed statistically by applying t-test formula. The results of the analysis showed that the value of t-counted (4.78) lies higher than t-table (2.02). It means that the research hypothesis was accepted. In other words, Using Picture Series in teaching Narrative text can improve writing skills of eighth-grade eighth-grade students at Mts Al - Khairaat Dolo.
