Abstrak
The purpose of this research is to find out if there any relation between habit in watching English films and vocabulary mastery of English Education Study Program students at Tadulako University. This subject of this research were students of the fourth semester and the research subjects were randomly selected by using simple random sampling method. The samples were 40 participants. They were assigned to fill questionaire for collecting data of habit in watching English films. Then, they worked on test of vocabulary to collect vocabulary score. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Relation Coefficient. The result shows that the relation coefficient between habit in watching English films and vocabulary mastery is 0.291. The result is categorized as low (0.20-0.39). It indicates that there is relation between habit in watching English films and vocabulary mastery and considered as low relation. In other words, there is another factor that can influence vocabulary mastery, it is students' learning strategy. The implication in learning and teaching that students can learn English based on what they are interested in and also teachers should encourage them that learning language can begins with their interest first, which is watching English films, and followed by integrating it to learning process.
