| Abstrak Munawara (A12117170). "Improving Reading Comprehension of Grade IX Students at SMP Negeri 13 Palu Through Procedure Text Video". Skripsi. English Education Study Program. Department of Language and Art Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Mawardin M.Said and Maf'ulah. The objective of this research is to find out the effect of the procedure Text Video in improving reading Comprehension of Grade IX Students. This research used quantitative research with a quasi experimental design involving an experimental class and a control class. The population of this research was the grade IX Students of SMP Negeri 13 Palu, which consisted of 148 Students. The research sample consisted of 30 Students in class IXA as the experimental class and 30 Students in class IXB as the control class. Both classes were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The researcher used test as the research instrument. There are two kinds of test: pretest and posttest. The pretest means score was 49.13 for the experimental class and 46.56 for the control class, while the posttest means score was 82.66 for the experimental class and 61.42 for the control class. The result of the test to the analyzed statistically by applying a t-test using a degree of freedom (df) 58 and 0.05 of the significance level. This result of the research indicates that the t-counted value (10.6) is higher than the t-table (1.672). In other words, the hypothesis of this research is accepted. In conclusion, procedure Text Video can improve reading Comprehension of Grade IX Students at SMP negeri 13 Palu. Key Terms: Improving, Reading Comprehension, Procedure Text, Video. |
