Abstrak
Nur Fadila (2022),Skripsi, The Implementation of Freewriting To Develop Writing Skill of The Eight Grade Students of SMPN 1 Parigi Utara.Under the supervision of Sriati Usman and Anjar Kusuma Dewi. The objective of conducting this research aimed at finding out whether the use of free writing technique can improve students writing skill. This research applied a quasi-experimental research design which involved experimental group and control group. The sample were class VIIIA as the control group and class VIIIB as the experimental group. The sample of this research was selected by using a cluster random sampling technique. The instrument of data collection was pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed statistically in order to find out the significant difference of students achievement in pretest and posttest by using t-counted formula. The result of the data analysis indicates that there was a significant difference between the result of the pre-test and post-test. It could be proved clearly by the mean score for both tests' results where the mean score of the experimental group was significantly improves from 47.61 to 82.54.Meanwhile, the control group’s ean score improves from 43.37 to 51.31. Then, By applying 40 degree of freedom (df) and 0.05 level of significance, it indicates that the t-counted (6.80) is higher than the t-table (2.021). In conclusion, the use of free writing technique can improve the students writing skill in writing descriptive text of the eight grade students at SMPN 1 Parigi Utara.
