Abstrak Leni Mandalika (A12117166). “The Use of Pictures to Develop Writing Skills of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP SATAP Negeri 1 Ampibabo”. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Department of Language and Art Education, Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako Univercity, under the supervision of Jamiluddin and Mashuri. The objective of this research was to prove whether or not using pictures can develop writing skills of the eighth grade students at SMP SATAP negeri 1A mpibabo. The research applied a quasi experimental research design that involved experimental and control groups. The population of this research was 45 students of they were divided into 22 students of class A as the experimental group and 23 students of class B as the control group. The instrument of collecting data was a write test. The indicates was administered twice as pre-test and post-test. The pretest was used to measure the students writing skill before treatment and the posttest was used to measure the students writing skill after treatment. The results of the mean score of the experimental group on pre-test was 39.39, while control group was 34.48.The result of the mean score of the experimental group on the post-test was 67.57, and control group 49.05.By applying a significant level of 0.05, the researcher found that the value of the t-counted (3.70) was higher than the t-table (1.681). Indicates that, the use of pictures can develop writing skills of the eighth grade students SMP SATAP Negeri 1 Ampibabo. The implication of the finding is that teachers can develop teaching students' writing skills. Keywords: Develop, Writing skills, Pictures |
