Abstrak ABSTRACT Della Anggraini A12117126. This skripsi is entiled “Improving Reading Comprehension of the Eight Grade Students at SMP Negeri 12 Palu through Listen-Read-Discuss Strategy”. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, 2023, under the supervision of Mukrim. The objective of this research was to find out whether the use of Listen-Read-Discuss (LDR) Strategy could improve the reading comprehension of the eight grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Palu. This research applied pre-experimental research which consisted of one group from the representative of the population of the students at SMP Negeri 12 Palu. The instrument of the data collection used in this research was test. There are two tests this test, pre-test and post-test. The data of this research was analysed statistically. After analysing the data, the researcher found that there is significant difference between the scores of experimental group and control group. Therefore, t-counted (9.20) is higher than t-table (1.761). in other words, LRD strategy can improve the reading comprehension of eight grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Palu.
