Abstrak This study was aimed to find out what methods the teacher used when they were teaching vocabulary. This study used library researchers. The data was collected by applying the documentation from preious study. The data was collected from previous studies, there are thesis, and journal articles that were related to the topic. The data was analyzed by way contant analysis. The result of the data analysis showed that there were Grammar Translation Method, Direct Method, Audio Lingual Method, and Communicative Language Teaching method implemented in teaching vocabulary. The most frequently used methods are Grammar Translation Method (52.9%), the teacher used five techniques in the grammar translation method. The techniques implemented by the teacher are Translation of a Literary Passage, Reading Comprehension Question, Fill in the Blanks, Memorization, and Using word in sentences. Direct Method (29.4%), the teacher used three techniques in Direct method. In implementing the techniques, the teacher used Reading Aloud, Question and Answer Exercise, and Dictation. Communicative Language Teaching (23.5%), the teacher used three techniques in the Communicative Language Teaching. The techniques implemented by the teacher are Mechanical Practice, Meaning Practice, and Communicative Practice. Students are expected to be more practical and creative.And the last the implementation Audio Lingual Method (17.6%), the teacher used four techniques in the Audio Lingual method. The techniques implemented by the teacher are Dialog Memorization, Repetition Drills, Question and Answer Drills, and Complete the Dialog. Keyword: teaching method, vocabulary. |
