Abstrak
ABSTRACT Dian Utari (A12117103). Analysis of the Tenth Grade Students’ Errors in Using Present Perfect Tense at SMA Negeri 1 Bolano, Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and Art Education, English Language Education Study Program, under the supervision of Hasan Basri. This study aims to investigate types of errors made by the tenth grade students’ in using present perfect tense at SMA Negeri 1 Bolano. The researcher applied descriptive quantitative design. The samples were 30 students which delegated from three classes (X IPA, X IPS 1, X IPS 2). The samples of this research were selected by simple random sampling technique. To collect the data, the researcher used test and interview as the instruments. Test and interview was given for two meetings. The researcher found 511 errors of present perfect tense in total, error of selection is the highest frequent as 202 items or 40%, second error of addition in total 86 items or 17%, third error of omission in total 81 items or 16%, fourth error of ordering in total 79 items or 15%, and the last other types of error in total 63 items or 12%. Without other types of error or miscellaneous, the researcher found 448 errors of four types, omission 18.1%, addition 19.2%, selection 45%, ordering 17.7%.The most dominant of error was error of selection.
