| Abstrak Komang Indah Sari (A 121 17 034). This Skripsi is entitled Correlation between Grammar Matery and Writing Skill of the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Palu. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Jamiluddin. This research aims to find out correlation between grammar mastery and writing skill of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Palu. Students were asked to write a recount text. Then, they were assigned to do the grammar test. The data from the writing test and grammar test were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment formula to find out the coefficient correlation. The data is confirmed that the obtained r value is 0.615 with the levels significant of the r-table 5% = 0.344. It can be inferred that there is positive and significant correlation between grammar mastery and writing skill of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Palu. Based on the criteria, the degree of correlation between grammar mastery and writing skill is high correlation. It means that grammar mastery gives a high contribution to students writing performance. Key words: Correlation, Grammar Mastery, Writing Skill |
