Abstrak

"The effectivenes of Reading Aloud Technique in Improving Grade X Students’ Pronunciation of Interdental Sounds at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo", A Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under supervision of Mukrim. The objective of this research is to determine whether applying Reading Aloud technique is effective to improve the grade X students’ pronunciation of interdental sounds at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo or not. The researcher applied pre-experimental research design. The research population was the grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo which consisted of 329 students. The sample was selected by cluster sampling technique and it was 30 students of class X IPA 1. The data were collected using a test administered twice; it was in the form of a pre-test and a post-test. The data were analyzed statistically. The results of the data analysis showed that the value of t-counted (9.98) was higher than the value of t-table (1.699) by applying a significance level of 0.05 with a degree of freedom (df) 30 (n-1). It means that the hypothesis was accepted. In other words, applying Reading Aloud Technique can improve students’ pronunciation of interdental sounds at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo.
