The purpose of this research was to find out the students’ perception on the use of Google Meet in teaching reading skill during Covid-19 pandemic when online learning was implemented. This research was a qualitative research with case study approach. The research subject was the students of XII IPS 7 of SMA Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu which consists of 25 students. The participants was selected by purposive sampling. Instruments used were questionnaire and interview. The data were analyzed statistically through IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0. The researcher found that most of students have positive perception on the use of Google Meet in teaching reading skill. The result of questionnaire showed that 84% students agree that learning reading skill through Google Meet is interesting and motivating them to learn, despite of the internet connection problem. Interview data also affirms this finding that Google Meet can help the students to understand the material because of the easy features that availabled in Google Meet. The study may imply that the use of Google Meet in teaching reading during Covid-19 pandemic is feasible and recommended. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa tentang penggunaan Google Meet dalam pembelajaran keterampilan membaca selama pandemi Covid-19 saat pembelajaran online diterapkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII IPS 7 SMA Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Peserta dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dan wawancara. Data dianalisis secara statistik melalui IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0. Peneliti menemukan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan Google Meet dalam pembelajaran keterampilan membaca. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 84% siswa setuju bahwa pembelajaran keterampilan membaca melalui Google Meet menarik dan memotivasi mereka untuk belajar, meskipun koneksi internet bermasalah. Data wawancara juga menegaskan bahwa Google Meet dapat membantu siswa memahami materi pelajaran karena fitur yang mudah dipahami yang tersedia pada Google Meet. Penelitian ini dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan Google Meet dalam pengajaran reading selama pandemi Covid-19 layak dan direkomendasikan. |
