Abstrak
Almas Mad-adam, 2020. “The Use of Clustering Technique to Improve Writing Ability in Recount Text of The Eighth Grade Students at SMPN 12 Palu”, Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and art education Study Program, under the supervision of Mukrim, S.Pd., M.Ed., Ph.D The objective of this research is to know if the clustering technique was effective to improve writing skill in recount text of the eighth grade students’ of SMPN 12 Palu. This research applied one group pre-test and post-test design of pre-experimental research. The sample were class eight A consisting of 19 students. The sample is selected by using purposive sampling technique. The technique of data collection is test. The test includes pre-test and post-test. The result of the data analysis shows that there is a significant difference between the result in the pre-test and post-test. By applying 0.05 level of significance and 18 degree of freedom (df), it can be seen that the value of t-counted is (8.19) and t-table is (1.734). The t-counted value is higher than t-table value, which means that the research hypothesis is accepted. Accordingly, this study suggests that the use of clustering technique can improve students’ writing skill in recount text. Keywords: Writing Skill, Improving, Clustering Technique.
