In writing test, the students chose one from three topics that are provided on the test’s instruction. The students wrote text in the form of recount text. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The result shows that the correlation coefficient between students’ grammar mastery and writing skill is 0.630. The result is categorized substantial or high. It indicates that there is positive correlation between grammar mastery and writing skill of 4th semester students of English Education Study Program of Tadulako University.
