Abstrak ABSTRACT Adelia (2021). Improving Reading Comprehension of Grade Ten Students of SMK Negeri 6 Palu Through Listen-Read-Discuss (LRD) Strategy. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Darmawan. The objective of this research is to find out whether by using LRD Strategy can improve reading comprehension of grade ten students or not especially in descriptive text or not. The researcher applied a quasi experimental research design. The population of this research was grade ten students of SMK Negeri 6 Palu which consist of 108 students. The sample of this research sample was 36 students of class X TKJ 2 as the experimental class while 36 students of class X TKJ 3 as the control class. The sample was selected by using cluster Random sampling technique. The technique of data collection was test. The test includes pre-test and post-test, with the mean score 49.71 for experimental class, and 58.09 for control class on pre-test while on post-test, 64.76 for experimental class, and 61.13 for control class. By applying 0.05 level of significance and 28 degree of freedom (df), as can be seen that the value of t-counted is (2.12) and t-table is (1.703). The t-counted value is higher than t-table value, which means that the research hypothesis is accepted. Based on the result, it can be concluded by using of LRD Strategy can improve students’ reading comprehension in descriptive text.
