Abstrak
Adrian Christianto Katili (A 121 16 127). This Skripsi is entitled “THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PLANT ANIMAL NATION THING SCORE (PANTS) GAME TO INCREASE VOCABULARY OF EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMP LABSCHOOL PALU” under supervision of Konder Manurung. The objective of this research is to find out if PANTS game is effective to increase vocabulary of eighth grade students of SMP LABSCHOOL Palu. This research applied quasi experimental design, which used two groups. They are experimental group and control group. The research population was the eighth grade students of SMP LABSCHOOL PALU which consisted of 100 students. The samples were selected by purposive sampling technique, and they were 25 students of class VIII D and 25 students of class VIII A. The instrument used for collecting data was test. The test included pre-test and post-test, with the mean score 68.89 for experimental class, and 74.37 for control class on pre-test. Meanwhile on post-test, it was 84.15 for experimental class, and 83.41 for control class. The data resulted from the test were analyzed statistically by applying t-test formula. The results of the analysis show that the value of t-counted was 1.14. Applying the degree of freedom 45 (Nx + Ny – 2= 15+15-2) and 0.05 level of significance, the value of the t-table was 1.701. It shows that t-test value was lower than the t-table value. It means that the research hypothesis was rejected. It implies that PANTS game is not effective to increase vocabulary of eighth grade students at SMP LABSCHOOL Palu.
