Abstrak Agnes Mapawangga ( A 121 16 122). “A study on the implementation of fairy tale to improve reading comprehension”. Skripsi English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Konder Manurung. This research was conducted through Library Research method which aimed at investigating how fairy tale method was implemented in teaching reading comprehension. The data sources were taken from documents based on scientific writing from 2010 to 2021. Based on the results of the library research method, there are six (6) scientific writers found, there are Hartini (2018), Fifi Desmiyati (2016) , Samosir (2016) Irfan (2016) Pawana (2014) and Sari (2012) . The results of the analysis show that The Implementation of Fairy Tale method in teaching reading comprehension was conducted in three steps. The technique of fairy tale is described as a collection of pre-activities, while activities, and post-activities to help students understand, learn, and enjoy the ability in reading comprehension. The application of this technique was not only done by depending on this technique itself, but also done with the help of various supporting media and technique, such as digital fairy tale book, and narrative text. The analysis of the primary sources also revealed that, after implementation of fairy tale technique, it was found that all of the students at different academic level experienced improvement in their reading comprehension. The Findings imply that use of fairy tale in teaching reading comprehension give positive effect to the students and therefore it is advisable for the English teachers to apply it to teach reading at any level of enation.
