Abstrak Rivaldo Kalaena, A 121 16 058, 2022. The Effectiveness of Vlog to Improve Students’ Speaking Ability of Tenth Grade Students. Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Language and Art Department, English Education Study Program, Tadulako University, Under the Supervision of Ferry Rita. The objective of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of vlog to improve students’ speaking ability of tenth grade students. The approach of this study was quantitative. The samples were the students of X MIA 3. The researcher applied pre-experimental research design. It involves 21 students as the experimental class. They are selected by using purposive sampling. The result of data analysis indicated that there was a significant result of pre-test and post-test after getting vlog as a treatment. The mean score showed there was an increase between the pre-test (41.66) and the post-test (80.95). Based on the result of the pre-test and post-test, it was found the value of t-counted 10.25. By the t-table value was 1.721 which indicated the value of t-counted (10.25) was higher than the t-table value (1.721). It means that the hypothesis is accepted. In other words, Vlog is effective in improving speaking ability of tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Palu. Keywords : Speaking, Ability, Vlog |
