Abstrak
ABSTRACT Awaludin. B (2020), This skripsi is entitled “The Implementation of Think-Pair-Share Technique to Improve Speaking Ability of the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Sidoan”, under the supervision of Hasan Basri The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using Think-Pair-Share Technique in improving the tenth grade students’ speaking ability of SMA Negeri 1 Sidoan. The design is a quasi-experimental research design which involved experimental and control groups. The research samples are class X MIPA 2 as the experimental group consist of 25 students and class X MIPA 1 as the control group consist of 25 students selected by cluster random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher gave two kinds of test, pre-test and post-test to both experimental and control groups. The treatment is only given to the experimental group. The data is analyzed statistically in order to find out the significant difference students’ achievement in pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test of experimental group is 37.3 while control group is 38.6. The mean score of post-test of experimental group is 55.3 while control group is 50. By using the 0.05 level of significance, the researcher computed the data and found that the value of the t-counted (2.65) is higher than the t-table (2.01). It means that the hypothesis is accepted. In other words, using Think-Pair-Share Technique can improve the students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sidoan.
