Abstrak ERWIYANA (A 121 16 049). Using Guessing Meaning from Context to Improve Students’ Vocabulary Mastery of the Tenth Grade of SMK Negeri 1 Sojol. Teacher Training and Education Faculty, English Language Education Study Program, Tadulako University. Under the Supervision of Nadrun. This research aims to find out that Guessing Meaning from Context can improve students’ vocabulary mastery of the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 1 Sojol. The subject of the research was the second year students of SMK Negeri 1 Sojol. This research was classified as pre-experimental research design. It involved 15 students as the experimental group selected by using purposive sampling. The data were obtained by using test divided into pre-test and post-test. The mean score showed there was an increase between the pre-test (66) and the post-test (73). Based on the result of the pre-test and post-test, the researcher found that the values of t-counted was 1.81. By applying degree of freedom (df) (15-1) and 0.05 level of significance, it is found the t-table value was 1.761 which indicated the value of t-counted (1.81) was higher than the t-table value (1.761).
