| Abstrak ABSTRACT Dewi Safiah (A121 16 042). “The Implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) Strategy to Improve Students’ Ability in Writing Recount Text at MAN 2 Parigi”. English Education Study Program, Department of Language and Art Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Mochtar Marhum. This study aims to find out whether or not the implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) strategy is effective to improve students’ ability in writing recount text at MAN 2 Parigi. The research applied a pre-experimental research design. The sample of this study was 27 students in X MIA 1 as the experimental class. It was selected by purposive sampling technique. In collecting the data, test was used as the research instrument. Test were given in two types, they were pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test and post-test were 7.59 and 32.62. The result of the test was analyzed statistically by applying T-test formula and using degree of freedom (df) 26 and 0.05 of the significance level. This research indicates that the t-counted value (5.6) was higher than the t-table (1.705). In other words, the hypothesis of this research was accepted. It shows that Think Talk Write (TTW) strategy is effective to improve students’ ability in writing recount text at MAN 2 Parigi. Keywords: writing, recount text, Think Talk Write (TTW) strategy. |
