Abstrak
ABSTRACT Miftah Fauzan Rahmat (A 121 16 040). Using Word Clap Game to Improve Vocabulary Mastery of Seventh Grade Students of Smp Negeri 2 Palu. Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Language and Art Department, English Language Education Study Program, Tadulako University. Under the Supervision of Hasan Basri. This research aims at findings out the use of Word Clap Game to Improve the Students’ Vocabulary Mastery of the Seventh Grade Students’ of SMP Negeri 2 Palu. The researcher applies a quasi-experimental research design. The sample is selected using cluster sampling technique. The instruments of data collection are pre-test and post-test. The result of data analysis indicates that there is significant difference between the result of pre-test and post-test. The mean score of experimental class significantly developed from 39.77 to 55.75. Meanwhile the mean score of control class developed from 55.98 to 56.09. Based on the result of pre-test and post-test, it is found that the t-counted is 11.26. By applying the degree of freedom (df) 56 with the level of the significance (0.05), it is found that the t-table (2.004). It shows that t-counted (11.26) is greater than t-table (2.004). Furthermore, it means that the hypothesis is accepted. Thus, the use of Word Clap Game is effective to develop the vocabulary mastery of the Seventh Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Palu.
