Abstrak
Siti Fatimah Azzahra (A 121 16 026). “Developing Writing Skill of Grade X Students at SMA Negeri 1 Sindue Tobata Donggala Through Clustering Technique”. Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and Art Education, English Language Education Study Program, under the supervision of Mawardin M. Said. The aim of this research is to prove whether the implementation of Clustering technique is effective to develop writing skill of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Sindue Tobata. The researcher applied quasi experimental research design which involved experimental class and control class. The samples were class X MIPA 3 as the experimental class and class X MIPA 1 as the control class. They were selected by using purposive sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher gave pretest and posttest for both classes. The pretest was used to measure the students? writing skill before treatment and the posttest was used to measure students? writing skill after treatment. The result of the data analysis showed that there was an development between the results of posttest of both classes. The mean score of experimental class before the treatment is 44.53, while the control one is 42.68. After giving the treatment, the mean score of experimental group in posttest is 69.79 and the control one is 62.12. It showed that the t-counted (2.35) is greater than t-table (1.67) which indicates that the research hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it can be inferred the implementation of Clustering technique is effective to develop writing skill of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Sindue Tobata.
