| Abstrak My Heart Lidya Piri (2021). By title “Developing Speaking Skill of Grade XI Students at SMA Katolik St. Andreas Palu through Interview Technique”. Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Language and Art Department, English Education Study Program, Tadulako University. It is under the Supervision of Mawardin M.Said. The objective of this research is to investigating the significance differences in speaking skill by using Interview Technique of the eleventh-grade students of SMA Katolik St. Andreas Palu. The researcher applied quasi experimental research design. The population of the research was the eleventh-grade students of SMA Katolik St. Andreas Palu. The purposive sampling technique was selected in this research. The sample was 15 students of class XI IPS as the experimental class and 17 students of class XI IPA as the control class. The experimental class was given treatment by applying Interview Technique in teaching speaking skill, whereas the control class was taught with general way as the teacher uses. The Instrument of data collection was test (pretest and posttest). Based on the data analysis, it was found that there are significant differences between the score of the experimental and the control classes. It indicated by the t-counted (1.739) that was higher than the t-table (1.683) by applying 0.05 level of significance and the degree of freedom (30). Therefore, there was a significant difference in speaking skill between students who were taught without and with Interview Technique. Key word: Interview Technique, Speaking Skill. ? |
