Abstrak
ABSTRACT NIAR (A12116002). This Skripsi is entitled, Analysis of Grammatical Errors in Descriptive Text of the EFL Undergraduate Students of Tadulako University. Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and Art Education, English Language Education Study Program, under the supervision of Rofiqoh. ? This research aims to find out the types of grammatical errors in descriptive texts made by the students of English Education Study Program academic year 2019/2020 at Tadulako University. The participants were 18 students taking text type writing course. Data were collected through instrument writing task. In this research, the data analysis found that the students commonly made grammatical errors in four types; they are: omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The dominant type of students grammatical error is omission. The findings showed that the percentage of the students’ percentage in ommision is 45.5%, addition is 14%, misformation is 18% and misorder is 23%. The results of this research imply that, in teaching writing, the focus is not only on how to help the students easily to generate their ideas in writing or how well they organize their writing, but also must consider more about students’ grammar.
