Abstrak ABSTRACT Nur’ain Syahrain, 2020. “Using Magnet Summaries Strategy to Improve Writing Skill on the Tenth Grade Students at Sma Negeri 1 Parigi”. Skripsi. English Education Study Program. Language And Art Education Department. Teacher Training And Education Faculty. Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Nadrun This research aims at finding out whether Using Magnet Summaries Strategy can improve writing descriptive text of the tenth grade students’ of SMA Negeri 1 Parigi. The researcher used quasi-experimental research design. The population was the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Parigi that consisted of 6 classes. The sample was drawn by applying random sampling technique to select an experimental group and a control group. The samples were X E as the experimental group with 30 students and X D as the control group with 30 students. The instrument of data collection was pretest and posttest. The result of the data analysis shows that the mean score of students of the experimental group improved from 43.89 to 72.78. Meanwhile, the control groups mean score improved from 45.55 to 58.33 Furthermore, the result of data analysis show that t-counted is 4.27 while the value of t-table is 2.002 by applying 0.05 level of significance and 50 degree of freedom. It can be deducted that the t-counted is higher than t-table. It means that the hypothesis of this research is accepted. It implies that using Magnet Summaries Strategy can improves Writing Skill of the Tenth Grade Students of Sma Negeri 1 Parigi. Keywords: Magnet Summaries Strategy, Writing Descriptiv |
