Abstrak
ABSTRACT Fidya Arum Cendana (2020). This skripsi entitiled “Increasing Vocabulary Mastery of The Eight Grade Students at SMP Negeri 1 Ampibabo Through Blindfold Game”. Skripsi.Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and Art Education, English Language Education Study Program, under the supervision of Konder Manurung. The objective of this research is to find out whether that Using Blindfold Game can increase students vocabulary mastery of grade the eighth students of SMP Negeri 1 Ampibabo . The quasi-experimental research design was applied. The population of this research was the eighth grade students at SMPN 1 Ampibabo that consisted of 5 classes. The sample of this research was selected by using a cluster sampling technique. The samples were VIIIA as the control group that consisted of 23 students and VIIID as the experimental group that consisted of 24 students. The instruments of data collection were pre-test and post-test. The pre-test was used to measure the students’ vocabulary mastery before treatment and the post-test was used to measure the students’ vocabulary mastery after the treatment. The result of the data analysis shown that there was a difference between the result of the pre-test and post-test. The mean score of the experimental group is improved from 24.09 to 61.5. Meanwhile, the control group’s mean score is improved from 23.26 to 36.11. The data were analyzed statistically by applying t-test formula. The value of t-counted is 2.88 while the value of t-table is 1.67. It can be concluded that the t-counted is higher than t-table. It means that the hypothesis is accepted. It implies, using Blindfold Game can increase vocabulary mastery of grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 1 Ampibabo. Keywords: Increasing, Vocabulary, Blindfold Game
