Abstrak ABSTRACT Rana Dewi (2020). “Using pop-up pictures to improve vocabulary mastery of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sirenja”–A Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and Art Education, English Language Education Study Program, under the supervision of Sudarkam Mertosono. This research aimed to find out if Using Pop-up pictures improve vocabulary mastery of grade VII students of SMPN 1 Sirenja. It applied quasi-experimental research design was applied. The population of this research included 5 classes of grade VII students of SMPN 1 Sirenja. Cluster random sampling technique was used in selecting the sample — 29 students of VII A was selected as control group and 29 students of class VII B was selected as experimental group. The instruments used in collecting the data were pre-test and post-test. The result of data analysis there shows the mean score of experimental class increased from 40.51 to 71.20 and 44.82 to 50.17 that of the control group. The result of the data analysis shows that there was a difference between the result of the pre-test and the post-test. The value of t-counted was 3.62 and the t-table was 1.99. It means that the hypothesis is accepted. It is concluded was accepted. Thus, Using pop-up pictures to improve vocabulary mastery of grade VII students of SMPN 1 Sirenja.
