Abstrak Language assessment is a kind of process to measure the competence or the achievement of the students in the language, particularly English. Assessment process genuinely puts emphasis on the test as a viable tool to provide better information at the end of a course. However, designing and creating a set of test can be a real challenge for teachers. Many qualifications or requirements must be considered by the teachers to make a good quality test for the students. The objective of this research is to find out and describe the content validity of the teacher-made test for the seventh-grade students of SMPN 4 Luwuk. The research design was descriptive especially survey method. The population was all the test made by the English teacher of SMPN 4 Luwuk and the sample of this study was the final test made by the English teacher used for seventh-grade students. In collecting the data, the researcher used interview and secondary data technique. In analyzing the data, this research employed an interactive analysis model and table of specification. Regarding the result of the data, the percentage of the conformity level of the test items between the syllabus and learning material was 73.3%. This indicates that the teacher-made test has good content validity. However, the representation of the basic competences is not proportional yet because there is a basic competence which dominates the test items. |
