Abstrak
ABSTRACT Dian Dwi Astuti (2021). This Skripsi entitled “entitled “Developing Writing Skill of the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Negeri 2 Pagimana through Guided Writing”. The Skripsi of English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department of Teacher Training and Education Faculty at Tadulako University, under the supervision of Rofiqoh. The objective of this research was to prove the effectiveness of guided writing in teaching writing descriptive text to the ten grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Pagimana. This research applied a quasi-experimental research design which involved experimental group and control group. The samples were class XB experimental as the experimental class and class XA as the control class. In collecting the data, the researcher gave pretest and posttest for both of groups. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The result showed that the mean scores pretest of the experimental group was 38.5 and the posttest was 70.25. The mean score pretest of control group was 39.5 and the mean score of the posttest was 57.38. Furthermore, the analysis of t-table using degree of freedom (df) 38 (Nx+Ny-2) with the significant level 0.05 was found that t-counted value was 5.6 and t-table is 1.686. The data indicates that t-counted is greater than t-table. In conclusion the use of guided writing is effective in teaching descriptive text to the ten grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Pagimana.
