Abstrak
ABSTRACT APRIANI, 2015. This Skripsi is entitled “The Implementation of Observe and Remember Game in Teaching Vocabulary to Seventh Grade Students of SMP Negeri 19 Palu”. A skripsi. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Under the Supervision of Nur Sehang Thamrin. The aim of this research is to know whether or not the implementation of observe and remember game can increase vocabulary to the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Palu, especially in mastering nouns, adjectives and verbs. The researcher applied a quasi-experimental research design which involved experimental and control group. The samples were class VII B as the control group and class VII C as the experimental groups. They were selected by using a purposive sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher gave vocabulary test in pre-test and post-test for both groups. The result of data analysis shows that there is an improvement between the results of post-test of both groups. The mean score of experimental group before the treatment is 44.85, while the control group is 51.31. The data was analyzed statistically by applying t-table where the degree of freedom is 40 and the level of significance is 0.05, the researcher found that the value of t-counted is 5.02 while the value of t-table is 1.684 which indicates that the research hypothesis is accepted. Thus, the Implementation of Observe and Remember Game is effective to increase’ vocabulary especially in mastering nouns, adjectives and verbs. keywords: implementation observe and remember game; increasing vocabulary.
