Abstrak ABSTRACT Nurhaliza (A 121 15 146). This Skripsi entitles “Improving Reading Comprehension of The Eight Grade Students Of SMP Satap Mandel Through Grammar Story Strategy.” Under the Supervision of Hasan Basri. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of Grammar Story Strategy on students comprehension in reading English texts, especially narrative texts. A pre-experimental research design is used by involving only one sample class. 30 students of the eight grade as the sample of the research were as the experimental class selected by using total sampling technique. The instrument of data collection is a test given as pre-test and post-test. Pre-test is used to measure the students’ reading comprehension before the treatment, and the post-test is used to measure their reading comprehension after the treatment. The result of the data shows that the tcounted value (377.2) is greater than the value of ttable (2.042). It proves that the research hyphotesis is accepted. In conclusion, Grammar Story Strategy can improve the students reading comprehension narrative text at the Eight Grade students of SMP Satap Mandel.
