Abstrak
ABSTRACT Tansa Janna Nitya Elnino Korompot (A 121 14 222). An Analysis of Teacher’s Pedagogical Practices in Teaching English at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. A Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, It is under the Supervision of Nadrun. The purpose of this research is to find out the pedagogical practices of English teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. This research used a qualitative research design. Data collection techniques were observation and interviews. The subject was one English teacher at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the English teacher at SMP Negeri 6 Palu has implemented several aspects in pedagogical practices. It can be seen from observations that the teacher has carried out pedagogical practices very well. The practices are learning atmosphere, the teacher can create a pleasant learning atmosphere that encourages students to learn, learning methods, Teacher use appropriate learning methods so can create effective and efficient teaching and learning process, student learning condition, teachers can recognize, know, and understand the condition of students, learning aids, Teacher use learning media that correspond to the learning goals they need to achieve, interest in learning, Teacher can make students' interest in learning increase, learning materials, The materials used by teacher correspond to the learning goals and student characteristics that the student achieves, teacher abilities, The teacher can provide teaching materials, lead classes, and solve various problems that may arise during the teaching and learning process, and learning motivation Teachers are able to motivate students by conducting experiments or activities that can motivate students. The results of the interview with the English teacher at SMP Negeri 6 Palu showed that there were several difficulties encountered during the learning activities like the students are divided into two classes and the learning process may only take an hour due to lack of timing and schools still lack learning media such as information and books. Therefore, the teacher always prepares her own learning media starting from books and using sources from the internet. In general, the pedagogical practices of the English teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Palu are generally in very good criteria. Key Words Analysis, Pedagogical Practices.
