Abstrak
ABSTRACT Dhea Soraya (A 121 14 177). “The Implementation of Read-Cover-Remember-Retell (RCRR) Strategy to improve reading comprehension of the tenth grades at SMKN 3 PALU”. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Under the Supervision of Nadrun. The objective of the research is to find out whether or not the implementation of Read-Cover-Remember-Retell (RCRR) Strategy can improve the reading comprehension of the tenth grade students at SMK Negeri 3 Palu. The researcher used quasi experimental research design which involved two groups namely experimental group and control group. The population was the tenth grade students at SMK Negeri 3 Palu and the samples were X TSM A and X TSM B. Selected by using the purposive sampling technique. The instrument of collecting the data was test. The test consisted of pre-test and post-test. The pre-test was given in the first meeting to measure the students’ reading comprehension before the treatment. Meanwhile, the post-test was given to find out whether the strategy was effective or not in improving the students’ reading comprehension after the treatment was given. The result of the data shows that the t-counted is (5.076) greater than the t-table is (1.684). There was a significant improvement of the students’ vocabulary. It is concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. Thus, the implementation of Read Cover Remember Retell Strategy can improve the reading comprehension of the tenth graders at SMK Negeri 3 Palu.
