Abstrak This research is to find out the effectiveness of mnemonic strategy to improve vocabulary mastery of grade XI students of MA Alkhairaat Sigenti. The researcher applied quasi experimental research design by involving experimental and control groups. The population of the research was the grade XII students of MA Alkhairaat Sigenti. The sample was taken by applying purposive sampling technique. The sample was 28 students of XI A as the control class and 28 students of XI B as the experimental class. The treatment was given only to the experimental class, while the control group wasnot. The Instrument of data collection was test (pretest and posttest). Based on the data analysis, it was found that there are significant differences between the score of the experimental and the control class. In the posttest shows that the t-counted (12.1) was higher than the t-table (1.674) by applying 0.05 level of significance and the degree of freedom (54) (df=28+28-2). It indicates that the implementation of mnemonic strategy is effective in improving vocabulary mastery of grade XI students of MA Alkhairaat Sigenti Keywords: mnemonic strategy, vocabulary mastery. |
