Abstrak Ayu faradila (2020). This skripsi entitles “The Implementation of Bits and Pieces Game to Improve Writing Skills of Grade Seven Students of SMP Negeri 16 Palu. A skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. It is under the Supervision of Sriati Usman and Budi. The objective of this research is to find out the implementation of bits and pieces game improves the students writing skills or not. The researcher used quasi-experimental research design. Cluster sampling technique was employed to draw the sample of this research. The population was the grade seven students of SMP Negeri 16 Palu and the research samples of this were VII C as the experimental class consists of 21 students and VII D as the control class consists of 21 students. In collecting the data, the researcher gave pretest and posttest for both groups. The result of the data analysis shows that there is an improvement between the the result of posttest of both groups. The mean score of experimental group before the treatment is 38.62, while the control group is 39.68. after giving the treatment, the mean score of experimental group in posttest is 83.60. By applying 0,05 level significance with degree of freedom (df) 40 (21+21-2), it is also shown that the t-counted (7.14) is greater than t-table (1.684) which indicates that the research hypothesis is accepted. In other words, the implementation of bits and pieces game is effective can improve writing skills of grade seven students’ of SMP Negeri 16 Palu. Keywords: writing; bits and pieces game. |
