Abstrak
This study was conducted through Library Research Method which aimed at describing the implementation of Problem Based Learning Strategy at different academic levels. Based on Sa’adah M (2018) observation of MAN 2 Semarang, there were many reasons that the students faced in speaking English such as the students lack of vocabulary, lack of self confidence and the students don’t know how to pronunce well. The use of Problem Based Learning strategy can help the students deal with their speaking problems. Problem Based Learning is defined as a strategy where the students as the center of learning process, serve the students to work collaboratively, be critical thinking and become a problem solver who can explore their ideas to create solution. Moreover, the data described in this research were taken from between 2010 and 2020. There are ten studies used as the secondary data sources in this recent study. They are from Alamsyah N (2018) conducted at the second grade students 0f SMAN 5 Sidrap, Sa’adah M (2018) conducted at the eleventh grade students of MAN 2 Semarang, Mahtarwami Y (2019) conducted at the second grade junior high school of SMPN 1 Timang Gajah , Harianto (2018) conducted at the eleventh grade students of SMA Somba Opu Kab. Gowa , Puspitasari Jaya M (2019) conducted at the eleventh grade students of SMAN 1 Mojokerto, Zuhra (2012) conducted at the eleventh grade students of MAN 1 Palu, Silani Tri V (2018) conducted at the seventh grade students of MTS Islamiyah Medan , Kaliba N (2016) conducted at second grade students of SMA Somba Opu, Nangimah M (2020) conducted at telecomunication engineer faculty at Institut Teknologi Telkom Purwokerto and Safitri Dasa S conducted at second year students of Al Huda Senior High School Pekanbaru (2013). However, the result of descriptive analysis showed that the Implementation of Problem Based Learning Strategy on different academic levels between 2010 and 2020 experienced improvement on their speaking skill. This was due to the benefits that Problem Based Learning Strategy provides to all academic levels. Furthermore, the statistics of the findings found and described from the secondary data sources support the students’ improvement on speaking skill. To that extent, the students were stimulated to be active and build their critical thinking. Keywords : Problem Based Learning, Teaching Speaking
