Abstrak
Puspita (2019). This Skripsi entitled “Improving Reading Comprehension of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu through Repeated Reading Technique”. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Nur Sehang Thamrin and Maf’ulah. The objective of this research is to find out that the use of Repeated Reading Technique improves students’ reading comprehension. The population was the grade Eight students at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. The researcher used pre- experimental design. The researcher sample was VIII Maleo as the experimental group which consisted of 25 students. The test was administered twice: pre test and post test. The data was analyzed statically in order to find out the significant achievement of the students in the pre-test and post-test. The experimental group was given the treatment by applying Repeated Reading Technique. The instrument used in collecting data was a test given as pre-test and post-test. The result of tests shows that, the mean score of experimental group was 76,4 from 51 in the pretest. This score shows that the mean score is increased. By applying one-tailed test at 0.05 level of significance with 24 degree of freedom (df), it is found that, the value of t-counted (12,03) is greater than t-table (1.711). It confirms that, the research hypothesis was accepted. Based on the result, it concludes that, Repeated Reading Technique improves students’ reading comprehension at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu.
