Abstrak The aims of this research is to find out teaching English process during e-learning classes at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. This research was conducted through a descriptive qualitative research design in which the results are transcribed and described. The subjects of this research were three English teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. This research used interview to collect the data. Based on the research findings, the teaching English process during e-learning classes as follow: firstly, the three teachers were similar preparation before started e-learning classes like media, modules, laptops, and application for online teaching (Zoom, Google meet and Whatsaap). Secondly, they found a way to make the students active during e-learning classes, they gave project video, asked them to retell story and did question and answer. Thirdly, during the teaching and learning process, the teachers used videos, pictures, songs and games based on the materials. The challenges of the online learning was only a few students joined the class. The reason of not joined the class was that many students did not have smartphones or laptops. Thus, the teacher gave some solution like sending the video material to their Parents phone or asked the students to joined with their friends who have smartphone or laptops.
