Abstrak The Objective of the research is to find whether the use of spelling bee game can develop vocabulary of the seventh grade students of SMPN 19 Paluor not. The researcher applied quasi experimental research design which involved experimental and control groups. The population of this research was the seventh grade students at SMPN 19 Palu. The sample is selected by using a cluster random sampling technique. The sample of this research was 24 students of VII B (experimental group) and 24 students of class VII D (control group) the technique of data collection was a test (pretest) and (posttest) the test was in form of multiple choice and word arrangement. The experimental group was treated by applying spelling bee game while the control group use text book. The result of data analysis shows that there is a significant difference between the pretest and postest. Which Mean that there is significant diffirence between the result of the experimental group. It id found that t-counted 5.96 is higher than t-table 1.632. It means that the hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion the use of spelling bee game is effective to develop vocabulary of the seventh grade students at SMPN 19 Palu. |
