Abstrak
ABSTRACT Novela (A 121 13 123). “Improving Reading Comprehension Skills of Grade VIII Students of SMP Labschool Untad Palu through Information Transfer Technique”. Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Language and Art Department, English Education Study Program, under the supervision of Sudarkam R. Mertosono and Erniwati. The aim of this research is to find out if using Information Transfer Technique can improve students’ reading comprehension skills. This research took place at SMP Labschool Untad Palu and employed quasi-experimental research design. The research samples were VIII A as the experimental group and VIII C as the control group. They were selected using cluster sampling technique. The instruments of data collection were recorder and tests. Based on the data analysis of the test, it was found that t-counted value of 6.50 was higher than the t-table 1.69, or the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, Using Information Transfer Technique can improve reading comprehension of grade eight students at SMP Labschool Untad Palu.
