Abstrak ABSTRACT Fajriani A. Me’eraji, A 121 13 104. Improving Ability of the Second Year Students of MTs Al-Khairaat Tondo in Pronouncing English Vowel by Using Repetition Drills. Under the Supervision of Sudarkam R. Mertosono This research is aimed at proving that the use of repetition drills can improve the pronunciation ability of the the second year students of MTs Alkhairaat Tondo. The research applies quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group. The population is selected randomly to take sample for experimental and control groups. The instruments of data collection are tested to measure students’ pronunciation by using repetition drills technique. The data are analyzed by using t-test. Based on the data analysis, it is found that the students’ mean score in experimental group pretest is 40.81 lower than the control group’s mean score, 49.81. After doing the treatment, the students’ mean score in experimental group posttest is 80.05 greater than the control group’s mean score, 67.57. Comparison the two tests of scale describes that t-counted value = 4.83 > t-table value = 2.02. Therefore, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that applying repetition drills technique is effective on students’ pronunciation ability of the second year of MTs Alkhairaat Tondo.
