| Abstrak ABSTRACT Mahatir Muhammad (A 121 12 103). Teaching Vowel Sounds through Rhyming Pair Game At the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Satap Bambaira. A Skripsi. Mertosono and Muhammad Arid This research was aimed at proving whether the use of rhyming pair is useful in teaching vowel sounds of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Satap Bambaira. The writer applied a quasi-experimental research design which involved experimental and control groups. The sample of this research was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The samples of this research were class VIII A as experimental group consisting of 31 students and class VIII B as control group consisting of 28 students. In collecting the data, the writer gave pre-test and post-test for both classes. The gathered data were analyzed statistically. The result of the data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. It was proven by testing hypothesis. The t-counted value (15.50) was higher than the t-table value (1.672). It could be concluded that the research hypothesis was accepted. In other words, rhyming pair game is useful in teaching vowel sounds of eight grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Satap Bambaira. Keywords: Vowel Sounds; Rhyming pair Game |
