| Abstrak Developing Students’ Speaking Skill of The eighth grade Students at SMP Negeri 15 pasangkayu through Project Based Learning. Under the supervision of Drs. Muchtar Marhum, M.Ed, Ph.D and Mashuri, S.pd, M.A. The purpose of conducting this research was to prove whether the students’ speaking skill can be developed by applying Project Based Learning or not. The research was conducted at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 15 Pasangkayu. It used one group pretest-posttest design, consisted of 21 students, because it was a pre-experimental research. The class is treated by applying Project Based Learning to develop students’ speaking skill. Both pretest and posttest were used as instruments for collecting data. The researcher used statistical analysis in analyzing the data. The result of the data showed that there was significant difference between the result of pretest and posttest. By applying 0,05 level of significance with 21 degree of freedom, the researcher found that the tcounted (3,35) was greater than ttable (1,721). It indicated that the hypothesis of this research is accepted. In conclusion, the students’ speaking skill can be developed by applying project based learning. |
